#Icon011# So looking at pictures from the last GTG I've come to the conclusion that my current helmet looks retarded... and I need to get a new one ASAP. But it's got to be open face with a shield. Current helemt HJC CL21 Potential replacement: HJC CL33 AGV Dragon

The AGV dragon helmet looks good but its got an big outer diameter. Does anybody know a helmet that has the pilot look and a slim/small outer diameter? I dont like the looks of helmets bigger then the nolan no.1 model.

The GT helmet from Battlescooter looks pretty bad ass! But of course it's not approved for the US and I'm not sure it would pass inspection in Sweden... LINK <-- link doesn't work, can't link to their store...

I tried the AGV when it came out. Helmets always look better in pictures. Too bad the Agv looks like you novelty rave sunglasses jammed into an afro. It does come with a clear lens too, and it does have good eye protection for an open-face. Get the helmet from battlescooter! Why does it need to be approved by Sweden?

I tend to agree on the AGV, it does look awesome in the pic, but I'm also afraid I might funnier in it in person. I think the CL33 is a good compromise.

I ride w/ a Fulmer SND4 and must say it is a great helmet. But it is a winter riding helmet so I wouldn't recommend it for you Cali guys. Even w/ some of the winter padding removed its way too fucking hot. Someday I will buy a helmet for warmer days but can't afford right now.

hey spoon, i have a 3/4 with face shield by fulmer(sp?), in the store it looked great, but when i got it home i looked like a huge bubblehead! i hate that frickin helmet, but on cold foggy days, it's the one. i also got a really cool design in grey and black when i'm feelin spunky, but the chin strap thingy is excessive and takes too much adjusting time. so even tho my idea was to have many helmets to suit my mood(and outfits) i find myself wearing the same funky blk. half lid i left Honda in when i bought Lola. btw, going down to woodside/half moon bay tomorrow--i'm really psyched! the black sheep scooter club leading the way.

IS Illinois ( where I live) one of the only states with out a helmet law? Or has every one grown up with one strapped on their head since their first trike ride? I know the benefits of not having your brains spattered on the sidewalk, but I choose to go naked.
I'm sure KALIFORNIA must have one ( helmet law).. How about the rest of you. Chuck

I wear mine unless I'm on these bike trails I ride on here or if I'm just racing up and down my street. I gotta be careful cause if the cops ever figure out my scoot goes over 30 I'd get a ticket for no helmet and for unlicensed and uninsured. I have moped tags on it cause Sec of State doesn't know shit.

I deal with our fine ILLinois Sec of state on a daily basis and I cringe when we have an Ohio customer. That State (OH) needs a reality check regarding their motor vehicle/ title & reg laws. Chuck

I'm in the car business and we have a large air force Base near us. Lots of our customers are from out of state, or at least bought their trade in from out of state, or are titleing their new car out of state, so we have to deal with 50 different rules or proceedures when dealing with O O S customers. Lets just say that OHIO is not very dealer friendly. For one thing, their title are not transferable. Most states have dealer reassignments on the back for wsale transactions. But Ohio makes us get a new title in Illinois which is $65 here, before we can even w/sale the piece of shit trade in, which may only worth $50.00 for the whole car!
This is too much like work....Got to go to bed. Chuck
This thread isn't even about new helmets any more talk about hijackin

talkin about helmets, I'm thinking of painting my oldschool one grey , cutting the visor like a jet fighter style , putting some blue lighting bolts on it and the letters ICEMAN ala top gun , i want to try and duplicate the iceman helmet, ....................errr okay maybe I'm retarded.

....................errr okay maybe I'm retarded. heavens no... as for helmet laws, if your caught riding without one up here (in canada) you'll get a big hefty fine and get your license taken away by the cop (if hes a bitch). Why ride without a helmet anyways...in the two little accidents i got into, if i didn't have a helmet on i wouldn't be writting up this post. Guys, by smart and wear a helmet....do it for the scooter girls!!

Texas you can go w/out a helmet if you pay the DPS some money and have life insurance over a certain amount.
But the cops don't pull over anyone for it because I highly doubt that the 18 year old boys w/out helmets have life insurance --- I could be wrong though.
I choose to wear a helmet even though I look like speed racer. Go Speed Racer!
Shhh ... sometimes when it is over 100 degrees I wear sandles and once I wore a skirt.

Actually in california if you have $1million in insurance you can also go without a helmet. Don't know what insurance company provides that much coverage, mine doesn't.
