That's cool and you didn't even have to mess with jet sizes cause you're fuel injected! What's your top speed with the fuel injection?

Im at 32 miles/h with 6x6gram roller weights, a 3,5cm spacer and this intake mod. All stock it was at 28 miles/h, I guess the next step have to be a cdi if I want more juice out of it.

Yeah, you need the cdi, I think. 32mph? 32MPOuch! Nice mod though

i think you need someone to send you a carburetor and the necessary conversion items so you can go faster! i don't know what all you would need, but our carbed ruckus goes 37 stock. anyone have any idea what would be involved in converting?

I thought I read somwhere that the Euro Rucki are restricted to 28 mph,and that to "fix" them requires several changes....mainly a cdi box and a restrictior plate removal in the air intake tract somewhere. Zeus knows more about it than I do Chuck
great idea on the air box though.

Do a search for the metropolitan 2 deristriction mods. I read one (w/pics) that showed a plate that was heavily restricting their motors. I think it was on www.urbanscootin.com . Not for sure though. The met2's are restricted to only go 25 mph. That sucks. After removal of the plate they will run 35-37 easy. Research it b/f you spend any money on other parts. I'll bet that is your problem.

I like your intake mod too. I drilled (2) 1/8" holes in the part that sticks down; right next to the stock intake holes. I think it helped me a little, but on hot days it runs a tad too rich. I thought about drilling larger holes, similar to what you did, but I didn't want to risk water getting into the airbox. I ride some rough roads daily and didn't want to chance trashing my box, and air filter.

Spoon, I have read all the info I could find about the hardware that Pollini have released to the zoomer and Im gonna try to get my hands on the cdi along with a couple of other things this winter. I have so far not found a single person online that owns and have shared his/her experiance of the Pollini gear for the ruck/zoomer. I think the Pollini Exhaust looks like something that will match the average uggly scooter but it does not have the right Zoomer/Ruckus look to it. Zoomer/ruckus parts should look more mean/aggresive.
During october - april its more or less impossible to ride on two wheels in Stockholm, so Im going to spend a couple of hours in a garage modding my zoom cdi etc.
Blueshound, Im positive that its safe to drill a bigger intake in the way I did as long as you add a filter/mosquito net . Í have opened it up after riding it for about 1 hour and is was totally clean. Im gonna check it every now and then but Im convinced its a safe mod. I believe that reving the zoomer/ruck a little higher then stock makes it stronger and last longer.

ChuckTuna, below is a stock pic of the zoomer, could you please mark in what area I would find that intake? I would love to take a plate like that out but I dont know where it is, Might sound dumb but, is it the airintake, fuel or what is it taken from?

I know this won't help because I got it from the same thread on the central site that I see we were both posting to last month. But here is the link to a metro site that I got the pic from. I don't have my manual at home, or I'd look up where that little pic is on the bike. www3.telus.net/dougsimpson/metropolitan.htmlYours being PGM FI, I'm afraid its probably totally different anyway.
