You set up a meet, invite Abe, act pitiful, get Abe to install for you! I'll look for some pics we took when he did it. He used a a rag to hold the variator in place and then a couple good wacks on the ratchet...

power tools. or somehow hold the pulley and smack the bolt loose. Ive never personally done it with hand tools. torque spec is 32 N-m (24 ft-lbs) which is like a spark plug is tightened to. book says apply oil to threads and flange surface. id say apply loctite and torque to 40 or so or "F-T" u dont want that nut to come off! oh yeah get the belt to ride up in the rear pulley first and stuff something in there to keep it expanded so u dont have to take off the rear clutch stuff. the belt should be kinda loose so u can slip it off the front pulley.

I held mine with channel locks.
Make sure the roller weights have the end covered with plastic facing the direction of rotation. Or, is it the other way around. I showed my buddy my $11 roller weights, then he translated the back of the package. I'll get back to you, or look on the back of the roller weight pack to see which way they go.

the variator or the rear pulley w/clutch? dont take the rear off. just wiggle the belt off and then the variator should come off. use the spacer that comes wih the variator, also. if yours is shaved, then it will cause a problem.

Once you get the hang of taking your drive cover off it'd not a big deal to replace. It sounds like you first time. No biggie. It probably won't make much of a difference, but if you want to put it in it's still cool. I think they just have a longer life, but no magical powers. You need the power stone to get Kevlar to evolve into Kevlarion.

That really sucks. I've been stranded twice cuz of that problem. Honda should have used a locking nut like on the front and rear axles (see the little fin pieces that grip the threads?). Anyways, to get the stocker to work first you should degrease it. If you got degreaser great but if not use some soap/water and get it and the threads on the crankshaft non-greasy. Then (and this is the key part) put a drop of blue 'locktite' (available at any hardware store) on the threads. This stuff dries and prevents the nut from vibrating loose. The blue is removable locktite and can be removed with a socket but the red stuff is supposedly permanent on bolts under 1" diameter or so but it's not really that permanent is just a bit harder. I've actually used both on my variator and they both work fine. I recommend blue though.
